The association has appointed its acting general manager to the CEO role.

The Institute of Financial Professionals Australia (IFPA) has announced that it has appointed Ky Wilson as its new chief executive, effective immediately.

Wilson has held a number of positions at the IFPA, including head of membership and marketing and acting general manager.

The IFPA said that Wilson's appointment as CEO comes at a "crucial time for the profession, as practitioners navigate a complex environment shaped by regulatory change, digital disruption and economic uncertainty", adding that she is "uniquely equipped to guide the organisation into its next phase of influence and growth".

“I welcome the opportunity to step into the role of CEO,” Wilson said.

“As one of the oldest associations for financial professionals in Australia, IFPA has a proud, century-long history of standing with the individuals and businesses that form the backbone of this sector.

"I am steadfast in our mission: to provide accessible, practical support and a strong voice for the professionals who keep Australia’s financial system running, and to foster a professional community that supports them at every stage of their career.”

IFPA chair Stephen Ware added: “Ky has shown sound judgement, strong organisational knowledge and a steady approach to leadership. Her appointment reflects the direction the board believes is needed to ensure continued service to our members and industry.”

As chief executive, the association said Wilson will continue to drive innovation in member engagement, education, and advocacy.

“I believe professional associations are most effective when they stay close to the member experience. Everything we do will be rooted in listening to and responding to our members' needs.”

Wilson added that she will work closely with IFPA’s team to strengthen delivery across all areas of the organisation and ensure members receive the highest standard of service and support.
