COVID outbreak sees SMSFA conference postponed

The SMSF Association has made the decision to postpone its national conference to April due to the current health landscape and additional restrictions being enforced.

In an announcement issued on Friday (14 January), the SMSF Association said the national conference, which was due to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 16 to 18 February, will most likely be moved to April instead.

“Unfortunately, the current health landscape and restrictions being enforced due to COVID-19 have made a face-to-face event untenable in February. As always, the safety of our members and the broader community remains paramount,” the SMSF Association stated.

“The feedback from our members has been overwhelming supportive for a face-to-face National Conference, and that is what we are still planning to deliver. We have now earmarked April 20-22 for this event to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre.”

Public health forecasting suggests many of the current restrictions will have been lifted by then, allowing the pre-eminent event on the SMSF calendar to take place, the association said.
