Heffron founder and executive director Martin Heffron recently passed away, with the SMSF services firm recognising his bright and inquisitive nature and passion in growing the firm.

Martin had been battling cancer for a number of months. His sudden passing came as a shock to both his family and the entire Heffron team.

In an announcement late last week, the Heffron team said Martin’s light will continue to “shine brightly within the organisation”.

“Martin, our co-founder, will always be remembered as a warm and kind-hearted leader. He was uniquely inquisitive and incredibly passionate about creating an organisation that strives to help people live independently and within their means in his adopted Australia,” the statement said.

Martin has long been a prominent and highly regarded member of the SMSF industry and created the Heffron firm with his wife, Meg Heffron.

He was formerly the managing director of Heffron, with Meg stepping into the role last year. Martin remained actively involved in the business as a director.
