David Busoli will be leaving his position as executive manager for SMSF education to work “much closer” with accountants and advisers in 2018. He has yet to confirm what his next step will be.

“It has been a privilege, and immensely enjoyable, to have been part of such a fantastic group but I received an offer that was just too good to refuse. I will now take a few months off, compliments of my restraint of trade and my wife’s orders, and bounce back in 2018,” he said in a social media update earlier today.

Mr Busoli was originally with Cavendish before it was acquired by AMP. He became part of the SuperConcepts brand, which was established in early 2016 and combined all of AMP’s existing SMSF brands including Cavendish, Justsuper, Multiport, SuperIQ and SuperMate.

The news follows the appointment of new director, Amanda Johnston-Pell, who replaced former SuperIQ chief executive Andrew Bloore.

***Update***

SMSF Adviser understands SuperConcepts will not be replacing Mr Busoli.

David is a straight shooter & will be greatly missed at SuperConcepts.

It is no surprise that SuperConcepts is not replacing David.

Closure of the Victorian office, an offshoring partnership with BPO Connect & a 50% cut in the sales workforce all points to a significant cost reduction project.

Really a partnership with BPO Connect. The Age today reported that Arkuna Samarakoon a Director pleaded guilty to defrauding the ATO of $360k and the Outsourcing Manager – Crystal Mavroyeni is facing document falsification charges.

Surely AMP / SuperConcepts could not be involved with the same company.

Whilst I am not suggesting anything untoward some of these acquisitions AMP have made may suffer severe attrition to former owners/relationship managers in the next 12-24 months. All happening at a time when a wealth of experience and accounting knowledge has been jettisoned.
