A $10,000 scholarship for professionals working in the superannuation sector is up for grabs.

FEAL, the sponsor for the Melbourne Business School (MBS) Emerging Leaders 2024 Scholarship, said the scholarship for an emerging leader in the sector, will cover tuition fees and residential costs for the five-day FEAL MBS Emerging Leaders Program in Melbourne.

The Emerging Leaders Program equips emerging leaders in the superannuation fund industry with essential tools to navigate its dynamic landscape and to be good custodians of their fund members’ retirement savings.

It offers the opportunity to learn from senior faculty members as well as peers in other funds.

The FEAL MBS Emerging Leaders Program and accompanying scholarship were created specifically for emerging superannuation fund executives. It teaches aspiring senior managers skills that mirror the FEAL MBS Master’s program including marketing, leadership, innovation, people management, and strategy.

Doug Talbot, managing director of 1886 Consulting, which co-sponsors the scholarship, said superannuation leaders are uniquely positioned to help build a better, more secure future for almost every Australian.

“This scholarship is an investment in our industry and its people and through them, many Australians’ secure retirement,” he said.

“We believe this should be an opportunity to any high-calibre fund executive so encourage you to apply or nominate a colleague who might not otherwise have this opportunity.”

Applications for the scholarship open in September 2023 and close in early November 2023. Expressions of Interest are now open ahead of the application date.

The winner of the scholarship will be announced at FEAL’s AGM on 23 November, 2023 and will attend the FEAL MBS Emerging Leaders Program (11–15 March 2024) at MBS in Carlton, Melbourne.
