New speaker revealed for technical strategy day

Meg Heffron will be among the line of up of expert speakers at the upcoming technical strategy day, sharing her insight on pension strategies and traps. 

SMSF Adviser is pleased to announce that Heffron managing director Meg Heffron will be presenting at the SMSF Adviser Technical Strategy Day for 2022. 

Ms Heffron is a highly regarded expert in the SMSF industry, having worked exclusively with SMSFs since 1998. She is one of the few actuaries to work in all areas of SMSF practice. 

In her session, Ms Heffron will share some of her top tips for helping clients optimise their pensions and some of the traps to help them avoid. 

She will outline some of the key things SMSF professionals and their clients should do before even starting a pension, offer insights on how to optimise exempt current pension income, and highlight some of the considerations when structuring individual payments.

She will also explain the value of commutations in different strategies. 

Ms Heffron has a wealth of knowledge on this particular topic, with her firm Heffron dealing with thousands of pensions in SMSFs every year. 

The SMSF Adviser Technical Strategy Day will be held as an in person event this year across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. Attendees will be able to obtain up to 8 CPD points. 

Other expert speakers presenting on the day include Bryan Ashenden, Scott Hay-Bartlem, Clinton Jackson, Craig Day, Tim Miller, and Aaron Dunn. Further speakers, including the ATO representative, will be announced over the coming weeks.
