George Haramis, CEO and founder of accountantsGPS, said the company is finding many professionals in the industry are unsure about what the various new technologies available actually do and how they may be used in their business.

“It all sounds good, but how do we implement it? Part of the challenge is educating people on this,” he said.

He said, for example, the SMSF Checkup Report from accountantsGPS provides a complete strategic review of an SMSF that an accountant could never do manually.

“The key thing about technology is that you leverage it to provide the outcome you want for the client, which in this case, is that review of the fund to make sure that it’s on track for risk and compliance purposes,” he said.

“[SMSF Checkup will determine if] a fund is on track to meet its retirement objectives, determine its asset allocation, objectives, contributions, and whether it is meeting its contribution targets.”

Mr Haramis will be one of the presenters on SMSF Adviser’s exclusive, live, and free webcast dedicated to the SMSF tech stack.
