Now in its second year, the 2018 SMSF Summit, held in partnership with principal partner SuperConcepts, will help professionals build specialist SMSF knowledge, strengthen their value proposition and stay on top of the latest legislative and regulatory changes.

The conference will be held across five capital cities, including Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

This year’s event, held in partnership with SuperConcepts, will feature new speakers, including Darren Wynen from Insyt who will delve into details about the ECPI changes and pension strategies in the post-reform environment.

Smarter SMSF chief executive Aaron Dunn will provide tips and traps about events-based reporting and examine some scenarios that may crop up with SMSF clients.

SuperConcepts general manager for technical services Peter Burgess will present again this year and provide a comprehensive wrap of technical, regulatory and legislative developments in the sector, including ATO rulings and interpretive decisions.

Cooper Grace Ward lawyer Scott Hay-Bartlem will give insight into the critical estate planning questions that have arisen from the major superannuation changes and what existing structures may have unravelled for SMSF clients.

The ATO will also be there on the day to discuss what concerns are on their radar and answer questions about regulatory issues.

You can access more information about speakers and the agenda here.

SMSF professionals who purchase tickets for the SMSF Summit before 21 September can purchase early bird tickets for $249, instead of the standard $350 price.

Commenting on the event this year, Mr Burgess said SuperConcepts is “very pleased to be partnering with the SMSF Summit to deliver high-level, specialist content to SMSF professionals, particularly during a period of significant change and reform”.
