SuperConcepts expands to Adelaide

SMSF service provider SuperConcepts has expanded to Adelaide, opening the doors to its new office in the South Australian capital with over 100 full-time staff and planning to commence an internship program with a local university.

Commenting on the expansion, SuperConcepts chief executive Lara Bourguignon said favourable terms being offered to financial services businesses in South Australia were helping to turn Adelaide into a new centre for self-managed fund expertise.

“We chose to settle the bulk of our SMSF operations staff here in Adelaide in part due to the competitive conditions the government offers,” Ms Bourguignon said.

“In the process, Adelaide has emerged as an SMSF super-hub, with a large portion of Australia’s SMSF knowledge base right here in this office.”

Ms Bourguignon said in the process of the expansion, SuperConcepts had grown its staffing levels and continued to invest in delivering outstanding outcomes to clients.

“The business plan we devised with the Department of Trade, Tourism and Investment has seen SuperConcepts exceed our performance tracking with 113 full-time staff today,” she said.

“These indicators put us well on track for meeting the requirements projected to employ a projected 140 full-time employees by 2021.”

Ms Bourguignon added that the firm would also begin a new internship program with the University of Adelaide to nurture the future local talent pool of SMSF experts.

“Through our new partnership with the university, we’ll be offering two accounting students a 10-week internship with SuperConcepts,” she said.

“This is a great opportunity for students who are nearing the completion of their degree to learn more about SMSFS and the administration of SMSFs.”

The new office’s opening festivities on Thursday were attended by South Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment David Ridgeway, who said the firm’s expansion would have a positive impact on the SMSF industry in the state.

“These opportunities align with the South Australian government’s policy in supporting the growth of South Australia’s local funds management industry,” Mr Ridgeway said.

“Together, we are helping create opportunities to develop the next generation of SMSF and asset management industry experts in Adelaide.”
