In a statement, SuperConcepts said Stuart Develyn, who had joined the business in 2016 as general manager of business transformation, would soon take up a new role at AMP Capital.

SuperConcepts chief executive Lara Bourguignon said Mr Develyn had been a strong contributor to the client service ethic of the business during his tenure.

“Stuart has done amazing things at SuperConcepts in running our client teams and I know he’ll be a major asset at AMP Capital,” Ms Bourguignon said.

“We have a long history of promoting career pathways at SuperConcepts, and the added opportunities across AMP allow for an exchange of talent.”

Mr Develyn said he was grateful to those he had worked with in the business to build a strong proposition in the market.

“It has been fantastic to be part of something as special as SuperConcepts, being part of the leadership team and building the business,” he said.

“I want to thank my team for their tireless work and the client-focused approach that sets us apart.”

Ms Bourguignon added that Mr Develyn’s role would be absorbed into a new joint position of general manager of operations and service, to be overseen by Michael Pease.

“Our operations are tightly linked to our client service, and it makes sense to have one point of contact and accountability within SuperConcepts to ensure the best possible experience for our valued clients,” she said.

“Michael has demonstrated immense capability as we look to implement fresh processes to deal with the challenges we’ve experienced from rapid growth and platform migrations.”

Ms Bourguignon added that Mr Pease’s expanded role was acknowledgement of his value to the SuperConcepts leadership team, having successfully run SMSF outsourcing business MORE Super for 14 years before its acquisition by SuperConcepts in 2018.

Good luck in the new role Stuart. Your ability to lead and inspire will be missed at Superconcepts. Thank you for all your efforts over the past 3.5 years.

So under MS Bourguignon the revolving door of executives continues. In past 6 months 5 new GMs sppointed, Develyn gone & CFO Mark Bailey replaced by Gordon Fraser.

Forrest, They are just shuffling the decks chairs. A very interest analysis titled Flaying SMSF Administration in today’s AFR 25/10/2019 provides a better insight into the true reasons for changes. Incorrect reporting of past AUA & a huge drop declining AUA.

Wade / Bourguignon have cleaned out the old underperforming leadership team, corrected the reporting and now have a clear pathway to improve servicing and / or dispose of this costly foray into SMSF accounting.

The AMP foray into SMSF has been a failure. AMP claims that SuperConcepts has over 30 years experience. Simply buying the brand & changing the logo does not give you experience.

SuperConcepts reminds me of the MG car brand. The original was small dynamic & delivered innovative products with a focus on client service.

The current brand is owned by a corporate conglomerate, is cheap, produced offshore & has no regard for client needs.

Both brands are a shadow of their former highly regarded predecessors.
