Craig Jameson has been appointed as general manager for corporate development at the SMSF Association.

The chief executive of the SMSF Association, Andrea Slattery, said that as the association continues to expand its membership into the trustee market, Mr Jameson will have “an important role to play”.

“What is critically important in this commercial development role is to have a firm understanding of the SMSF sector, and Craig certainly has this having worked for AMP (four years) and ANZ (three years) in senior executive roles and board positions in their SMSF divisions,” Ms Slattery said.

“He has also worked for ING Australia, the Belle Property Group, and Tower Group in positions that have expanded his knowledge of not just SMSFs but the entire financial services industry,” she added.

“A lawyer by profession, Craig made the decision early in his professional career to go into financial services, and the Association is now set to benefit from his accumulated knowledge and experience over many years.”

Mr Jameson said he is buoyed by the move.

“Over the years I have watched the important role that the Association plays in advocacy, education and improving professional skills across the sector, and to now have the opportunity to be an integral part of this team is an exciting career move,” he said.
