SMSF specialists awarded top honours

SMSF professionals have taken out high-profile categories at the inaugural Women in Finance Awards.

Momentum Media, publisher of SMSF Adviser, together with principal partner NAB, celebrated the inaugural Women in Finance Awards at a gala dinner in Sydney this evening.

This industry-first event recognises the outstanding work of women within financial services, celebrating their successes on a national stage to support the continuing growth, development and evolution of gender equality in the workplace.

SMSF Adviser is proud to report that an SMSF auditor, Jo Heighway of Deloitte,took home the big award of the night – the Women in Finance Excellence Award for 2017. She also took out the awards for Accountant of the Year and Innovator of the Year..

The SMSF Adviser of the Year category was awarded to Jemma Sanderson, from Cooper Partners Financial Services.

Speaking after the event, Momentum Media’s head of events, Jim Hall, said: “Many congratulations to all of the winners of the first ever Women in Finance awards!

“It was an amazing night, and we’re proud to elevate the achievements of these inspirational women, who are not only role models for women in the financial services industry, but for the industry as a whole.

“By rewarding their hard work and dedication, and recognising the companies who have made diversity their mission, we hope to highlight the inspirational high achievers from the financial sector and recognise the rising stars of tomorrow.”
