Equipping auditors and accountants with the knowledge and skills to ‘Level Up’ and excel in the SMSF sector will be an integral feature of the 2024 SMSF Association National Conference in February.

Workshops, sessions, and case studies have been specifically tailored for SMSF auditors and accountants to ensure they remain at the forefront of this fast-evolving superannuation sector.

SMSF Association Head of Technical, Mary Simmons, says: “Auditors play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the SMSF sector so it’s essential to have sessions and workshops that examine issues through the lens of an SMSF auditor and accountant.

“The emphasis will be on highlighting the advantages of collaboration with different specialists to improve efficiencies and streamline the audit process for SMSF clients.”

To showcase a diverse range of industry expertise, our conference features a lineup of esteemed speakers.

Day one includes Shelley Banton (ASF Audits) in the very popular Q&A workshop with ATO Director, Paul Delahunty.

The second day welcomes Shirley Schaefer (BDO), Clinton Jackson (Cooper Grace Ward), Belinda Aisbett (Super Sphere), Mark Ellem (Accurium) and Marjon Muizer (Red Willow Super).

On the final day, Lyn Formica (Heffron) alongside Naomi Kewley (Peak Super Audits), will be running a workshop on related parted transactions and non-arm’s length income.

“We are confident that our experienced speakers, as well as those appearing for the first time, will offer a memorable learning experience that will add value to our Conference theme of ‘Level Up’.

The SMSF Association National Conference is being held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from 21-23 February 2024.
