Due in part to a declining membership base, Taxpayers Australia has moved to amalgamate its tax and superannuation teams.
As a consequence, Reece Agland’s role as head of superannuation has been made redundant.
The move was made last Friday, and confirmed to SMSF Adviser this morning. It comes just months after former ATO senior director Mark Chapman vacated the role of head of tax products and services.
Speaking to SMSF Adviser, Mr Agland said Taxpayers Australia will continue to lobby on superannuation issues and to “service the members as they have always serviced the members”.
A source within the organisation suggested, however, that there may be less of a focus on superannuation issues and more of a focus on core taxation issues in the future.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr Agland has been at Taxpayers Australia for one year and 10 months.
Prior to his role at the organisation, he was superannuation products and services manager at the Institute of Public Accountants.
