Speaking to SMSF Adviser yesterday evening, an AMP spokesperson confirmed that Tim Mitchell-Adams has been appointed to the new role of managing director of Charter Financial Planning, ipac, Jigsaw and the SMSF Advice business.

Staff were made aware of the change as a matter of “priority” yesterday, the spokesperson said.

Mr Mitchell-Adams will be reporting to AMP group executive advice and banking, Rob Caprioli. His appointment is effective immediately.

Mr Mitchell-Adams previously led AMP’s national sales team responsible for servicing the group’s advice licensees across platforms, investments, insurance, SMSF and AMP Bank.

“Tim is an excellent leader and is passionate about the delivery of a high quality advice experience for customers,” said Mr Caprioli in an announcement released this morning.

“He has developed strong relationships with advisers across Charter and ipac over many years and his focus will be on ensuring high standards of adviser professionalism.

Mr Mitchell-Adams has been with AXA and AMP since 2001. He previously held senior roles with Westpac and Asgard Capital Management.

AMP Financial Planning and Hillross continue to be led by Michael Guggenheimer, AMP stated.
