Glenn Doherty, who has more than 15 years of industry experience, including eight as co-owner of an Adelaide planning business, will work closely with the organisation’s head office in Adelaide.

Exelsuper chief executive Chris Harris said the new franchise is a major step in the growth plans of the company.

“More and more people are choosing to establish their own superannuation fund and assume greater control of their retirement savings, so we continue to grow as an organisation and are delighted to welcome Glenn as our first franchisee,” said Mr Harris.

“He has vast experience in the financial planning and superannuation field, and more importantly, has a genuine passion to provide independent SMSF advice to help families, retirees and young professionals create, manage and protect wealth.”

Mr Harris said Exelsuper currently manages more than $350 million in funds under advice and has established a presence in the local Adelaide market through “sustained client growth and company acquisitions”.
