Speaking to SMSF Adviser, Wilkinson Superannuation director Mark Wilkinson said the ‘SMSF Blueprint’ tool has been launched in collaboration with SMSF Consulting and provides SMSF trustees with videos, written summaries that can be downloaded, webinars and updates.

The tool will be regularly updated throughout the year to ensure SMSF trustees are kept up to date with the latest industry developments, Mr Wilkinson said.

The platform includes seven different modules, each comprising videos and summaries covering a different aspect of a topic.

“I think the tool is unique from the point of view that if you were to search for those specific questions you’d be unlikely to find video tutorials,” he said.

“What the site is intended to be is just one location to answer the common questions that the trustee is going to have about the operations of their fund.”

Mr Wilkinson said the tool will be extremely useful to the increasing number of SMSF trustees who manage their SMSFs on their own by using an administrator.

“For those that have got professional advisers, it’s useful for them because it will enable them to access a whole range of answers or gather information themselves without necessarily having to go to their adviser, enabling them to have a more proactive relationship with that adviser,” he said.
