A man has been charged with alleged fraud offences in Sydney’s north-west after five people reported the alleged unauthorised access to SMSFs.

In November 2024, officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command established an investigation under Strike Force Flowerpot after the allegations.

Following inquiries, about 7:15am on 6 May 2025, officers executed a search warrant at a house in Caddies Boulevard, Rouse Hill.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Riverstone Police Station.

It will be alleged that the man defrauded $160,184 during this time.

He was charged with five counts of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday, 16 June 2025.

While there is no information immediately available on whether the man was an SMSF professional, he had allegedly accessed multiple individuals’ funds.
