As SMSF Adviser prepares to provide critical regulatory and legislative updates at the 11th annual Technical Strategy Day, Remara is supporting the event as a gold partner.

Remara is an Australia-based asset management company that manages $1.6 billion in funds across key asset classes, including private credit, real estate, and tactical opportunities. The company was established in 2019 and is headquartered in Sydney, Australia.

Speaking about the partnership with this year’s conference, Remara head of distribution Ben Dixon said: “We sponsored the SMSF Technical Strategy Day last year and found the conversations to be highly engaging with SMSF professionals from across Australia.

“The take-up in SMSFs has seen strong growth for several years now, and we see many clients of Remara utilising their SMSF for investment. We also work with many financial advisers who assist clients with their SMSF allocations, and thus, it’s important to us that we support this component of the ever-growing superannuation industry.”

Dixon continued that these strategy days are vital for advisers to stay abreast of the regulatory changes that occur in the evolving SMSF landscape.

“Moreover, like any conference, it’s also an opportunity to network with peers and share best practice,” he said.

“The collaboration at last year’s events was fantastic. Remara enjoyed meeting many SMSF users and understanding how they are using these products to best serve their retirement needs.”

Speakers at this year’s SMSF Adviser Technical Strategy Day will provide in-depth analysis of recent legislative and regulatory developments, the implications of the proposed $3 million super tax, and the impact of government changes on non-arm’s length income (NALI) and how advisers could ensure that their clients remain compliant of the law.

Furthermore, the jam-packed agenda includes discussions on the impacts of policy proposals on older SMSF clients, strategies for contribution planning amid changes in caps and tax rates, and discussion on the potential inclusion of SMSFs in the retirement income covenant (RIC), including strategies for aligning SMSF practices with retirement income goals.

Throughout the day, attendees can network with technical and legal experts and other industry leaders and professionals.

The SMSF Adviser Technical Strategy Day 2024 will be held in the following locations:

Tuesday, 15 October, at Blackbird, Brisbane.

Tuesday, 22 October, at Rydges, Melbourne.

Thursday, 24 October, at Shangri-La, Sydney.
