SMSF education specialist Accurium is expanding its services to provide a comprehensive professional development offering for accountants.

Doug McBirnie, managing director of Accurium, said more than 4000 accounting firms currently use Accurium for their actuarial certificates and SMSF CPD.

“They know us for our approachable expertise and efficient online delivery, and we are bringing these same attributes to our education offering,” he said.

“Our experience in providing superannuation education for over 10 years positions us well to meet the emerging needs of our accounting clients.”

He said Accurium’s services will now include tax education, which will help to also strengthen the company’s relationships with its clients.

As part of the educational expansion, Accurium is appointing two highly experienced educators.

Lee-Ann Hayes, has more than 25 years' experience as a senior tax trainer, and will take on the role of head of tax education.

She will be joined by former SuperConcepts technical adviser, Anthony Cullen, who will support the head of SMSF education, Mark Ellem, as senior SMSF educator.

Accurium is also adding a technical helpdesk to its offerings which will deliver timely, considered and practical advice on taxation and superannuation issues.

“Everyone is looking for ways to work more efficiently. Our helpdesk service will extend the expertise of our clients by providing direct access to our team of tax and superannuation experts,” Mr McBirnie said.

Finally, to support the delivery of these initiatives, Accurium has also unveiled its new online education platform which consolidates SMSF and tax resources, online training, interactive courses, in-house training and the technical helpdesk in a single accessible space.
