Heffron has launched Education Bites, the firm’s newest education offering.

Education Bites is an on-demand learning platform containing small “bite-sized” courses that cover a particular area within a superannuation topic and allows users to learn at their own pace in their own time.

Heffron’s director Meg Heffron called it “a labour of love that has been in development for nearly a year”.

“While the content has been broken down into manageable sized courses of 30 to 60 minutes each, we have delivered the content in a way that doesn’t take away from the depth of learning provided for each topic,” Ms Heffron said.

“Like a lot of our services, we designed Education Bites by assessing what problems we face in our own business.

“We know that our clients face the same issues in training new staff, providing up-to-date training to existing staff and allowing staff to keep learning on a day-to-day basis. It isn’t always possible to take a whole day out of the office for training. Our solution is designed to make it easy to embed learning into a normal busy work life.”

There are over 20 courses loaded into the platform, with more in development. Heffron will continue adding courses to the learning platform on a monthly basis. Topics already covered include administration, benefits, contributions, fund tax rules, insurance, investments, trustee/members, and more.

Courses include assessments to earn CPD points immediately upon finishing the bite while content is still fresh. Assessments test knowledge, as well as provide tips in using the learnings in practice.

“Over time, there will be a host of different topics addressing different levels of knowledge for every audience,” Ms Heffron added.
