This year’s Women in Finance Awards was held as a live-broadcast event, kicking off at 6pm on Thursday, 10 September.
In this year’s awards, Rosario Carbajal from Wealth Inspired took out the award for SMSF Adviser for 2020, while Jackie Kirkwood from Shadforth Financial Group won Financial Planner of the Year.
In the audit category, Naomi Kewley from Peak Super Audits won Auditor of the Year. Sonia Gibson from Accounting Heart won Accountant of the Year.
“The Women in Finance Awards look a little bit different this year, but the goal of it remains the same — and that is to recognise the outstanding achievements of women in the professional and financial services industry right across Australia,” said Emma Ryan, deputy head of content, Momentum Media, in her welcoming speech.
Ms Ryan congratulated all of the finalists for this year’s awards.
“2020 has obviously not been without its challenges, but it’s been incredibly inspiring to see how you’ve successfully navigated through uncharted territory, providing a stellar example to your colleagues and peers,” she told finalists.
“As we go through these awards tonight, I hope you’ll be celebrating with your loved ones and will enjoy the evening as not only something to mark a job well done, but also as a chance to reconnect with friends and celebrate your success — whether that’s able to be in person or virtually. You certainly deserve it.”
