Allan Gray launches new super fee calculator

Asset manager Allan Gray has launched a fee calculator to help superannuation clients work out how much they’ll be paying in administration fees.

The calculator allows clients to enter their investment amount and create a portfolio, which is then used to work out the administration fees they would pay through Allan Gray Superannuation, Allan Gray Retirement and Allan Gray Investments.

Changes to the portfolio are reflected in changes to the fee range in dollars and basis points.

Clients will also have access to an exact breakdown of the administration fees through the calculator.

Allan Gray’s chief operating officer, JD de Lange, said he believes in equality when it comes to investments.

“Everyone has access to the same investment menu, for the same price for the same dollars invested — always,” Mr de Lange said.

“If administration costs come down, which we assume they will with technological innovation, then all clients will benefit through lower pricing.”

Allan Gray head of retail strategy Chris Inifer said it’s important to support both clients and advisers.

“Clients should not have to wait for a meeting with their adviser to benefit from favourable pricing changes,” Mr Inifer said.

“We also believe it’s important to support advisers — they shouldn’t have to move clients to alternative platforms in order to access a contemporary pricing structure.”
