Nominations are officially open for the 2026 SMSF Awards

Recognising the outstanding professionals and businesses shaping Australia’s self-managed super fund (SMSF) sector, the SMSF Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and significant contributions across the industry.

SMSF Adviser Awards 2026

The prestigious awards program will return on 16 October 2026 at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, following the SMSF Technical Strategy Day, which will be held earlier that day.  

“This event provides a platform to acknowledge achievement and leadership within the SMSF community,” SMSF Adviser editor Alex Burke said.

“As the SMSF sector evolves, it’s important to recognise the individuals and businesses driving innovation, delivering exceptional client outcomes and helping shape the future of the industry.”  

In addition to the returning award categories, the 2026 program will introduce four new categories: SMSF Lender of the Year, Lawyer of the Year, Legal Practice of the Year, and Advice Firm of the Year.  

These additions reflect the growth and diversification of the SMSF sector, ensuring the awards program recognises excellence across the full spectrum of SMSF services. 

 

SMSF Lender of the Year:  

This award recognises the lender that has demonstrated exceptional capability, innovation, and service in supporting SMSF trustees with compliant borrowing solutions. It celebrates organisations that have strengthened the SMSF lending ecosystem through responsible lending practices, education, product development, and strategic support for advisers and accountants. 

Lawyer of the Year:  

This award recognises the legal professional who has demonstrated outstanding expertise, leadership, and client service in the SMSF and superannuation legal landscape. It celebrates excellence in technical capability, strategic advice, and the ability to guide clients through complex regulatory and compliance matters. 

Legal Practice of the Year:  

This award recognises the legal practice that has demonstrated excellence in SMSF-related legal services, client support, and technical leadership. It celebrates firms that have strengthened the SMSF ecosystem through education, innovation, and high-quality legal guidance. 

Advice Firm of the Year: 

This award recognises the financial advice firm that has demonstrated exceptional SMSF expertise, client service, and business performance. It celebrates firms that deliver trusted, tailored, and technically strong SMSF advice while driving sustainable growth. 

Open to eligible professionals nationwide, the awards provide an opportunity to gain national recognition and build a reputation for excellence.
